TÜBİTAK 1832 Call for Green Transformation in Industry
Green transformation is not a choice; it is a commercial necessity
The TÜBİTAK 1832 Call for Green Transformation in Industry is a call of the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK). Its Technology and Innovation Support Programmes Directorate (TEYDEB) runs the call. It finances companies’ green transformation R&D and commercialisation projects with interest-free, repayable support. Who can apply?

Capital companies
Capital companies established in Türkiye and at least 75% privately owned can apply. Foreign investors can apply once they have set up a company in Türkiye. -
SMEs and large enterprises
The call is open to SMEs and large enterprises; you can apply alone or with up to 3 partners. -
Companies at least 2 years old
The company must have been registered for 2 years or more; spin-offs and companies founded with TÜBİTAK 1512 or 1812 support are exempt from this condition. -
A green transformation topic
The project must fall under one of these five headings: Climate Change, Environment and Biodiversity; Clean and Circular Economy; Clean, Accessible and Secure Energy Supply; Green and Sustainable Agriculture; Sustainable Smart Transport. -
R&D close to commercialisation
At application, the Technology Readiness Level (TRL) must be at least 3; work starting from TRL 8 or 9 is not eligible. The project is expected to end at TRL 7 or above and to include scale-up. -
Relevant expert staff
The applicant must employ at least one person with a bachelor’s degree or higher related to the project topic.

The programme’s limit and support rate are shown below; current values are confirmed by the institution’s call announcement.

- The support is interest-free and repayable; at the end of the project, 50% of it converts into a grant for large enterprises and 60% for SMEs.
- The project can run for up to 24 months. Repayment starts 1 year after the project ends, in two instalments a year.
- A bank reference letter covering the full support requested is required at application, and a bank letter of guarantee (teminat mektubu) at the contract stage.

What is the TÜBİTAK 1832 green transformation call?
TÜBİTAK 1832 is a call opened by TÜBİTAK TEYDEB under the World Bank-supported Türkiye Green Industry Project. The Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology coordinates the project.
The call supports projects that aim to prototype, validate, scale up and commercialise green technologies that have moved beyond the concept stage.

The repayable support rate is 70% for large enterprises, 80% for SMEs and 90% for SMEs in the earthquake zone; the remaining share is covered from own funds, and part of the support converts into a grant at the end of the project.

What matters in a TÜBİTAK 1832 application?
- The project must be clearly linked to one of the call’s five green transformation topics and tied to the chosen green transformation indicator.
- Starting and ending TRLs must fall within the call’s range, and the plan must include scale-up activity.
- Topics on the World Bank’s restricted activities list and outputs aimed at the defence industry are not eligible.
- The bank reference letter and pre-registration documents must be ready before the call closes.
- Projects are also assessed on environmental and social grounds; plan for this from the start.
