The FIX difference

Why source imports with FIX?

To reduce your dependence on a single supplier or market, we find verified alternative manufacturers, compare quotations in a single report and handle negotiations and sampling on your behalf.

  • Traditional method: You stay dependent on a single supplier or a single country.
The FIX method: A supply pool is built from alternative countries and suppliers, reducing dependence on a single source.
  • Traditional method: Suppliers are found through intermediaries or at trade fairs.
The FIX method: Manufacturers are identified directly through a global market scan.
  • Traditional method: Price and terms are accepted on the strength of one quotation.
The FIX method: Quotations are compared side by side, and price and terms are improved through negotiation.
  • Traditional method: Samples, quality and customs steps cause problems later.
The FIX method: Samples, quality control and customs delivery are planned from the start.
  • Result: High costs and supply risk.
Result: A reliable, more cost-effective supply network with alternatives.
Benefits

What you get

  1. Supplier diversity and risk management

We free your company from the risk of depending on a single supplier. We build a pool of alternative, verified suppliers you can bring in if a crisis, production fault or price rise hits, reducing the risk of your production relying on a single source.
  2. Professional communication across language barriers

The language of global trade is not just English; it is trade jargon. We manage correspondence, technical requests and negotiations with suppliers on your behalf, minimising the risk of wrong orders caused by language barriers or cultural misunderstandings.
  3. Operational time saved

Don’t lose time to different time zones, language barriers and complex logistics. We manage the supplier, negotiation and sample steps on your behalf and reduce your operational load.
  4. Competitive prices and cost optimisation

You are not stuck with the price your current supplier gives you. Through our research in the global market, we identify manufacturers that could offer the same quality at a better price, and we negotiate price and terms on your behalf.
  5. Verified manufacturers

We check the supplier’s capacity, certificates, test reports and export history. We tell manufacturers from intermediaries and remove firms that cannot be verified at pre-screening.
  6. Pre-order cost and regulatory check

Before you order, we check the product’s HS code, customs duty and additional financial obligations. For products that require a certificate of conformity, we research import inspection in advance and clarify the total cost from the start.
  7. Comparative quotation report

We set quotations side by side in one table by price, credit terms and quality, together with production capacity, delivery time and payment conditions. You make your decision based on the comparative quotation report we present with our recommendation.
  8. Sample approval and quality control

We manage the sampling process on your behalf and compare the product with your technical specification. We plan quality control and customs delivery before the order and, with your approval, introduce you directly to the supplier.
How we work

How does Import Consulting work?

  1. We pin down technical specifications, target price and annual purchase volume using the HS code (GTİP).

  2. We list manufacturers in target countries using trade databases and our sector network.

  3. We check capacity, certificates and export history and eliminate unreliable firms.

  4. We set quotations side by side in one table by price, payment terms and quality.

  5. We negotiate price, MOQ, payment terms and Incoterms in your favour.

  6. We manage the sampling and, with your approval, introduce you directly to the supplier.

Guide

What is Import Consulting?

Import Consulting means finding the right manufacturer anywhere in the world for the product, raw material or machinery you need.

The scope is not limited to products: for companies abroad, we also source software and IT service providers in Türkiye.

Negotiation and the sample process are also part of this work. The goal is not just to find a cheaper quote, but to build a high-quality, reliable supply network with alternatives.

At FIX, we apply the market intelligence method we use for exports to your imports.

We analyse your product and needs, scan the global market and pre-screen suppliers. We make your decision easier with a comparative quotation report.

Detailed guide

What should you check when importing?

  • HS code and taxes: The product’s HS code (GTİP, Türkiye’s customs tariff code), taxes and additional financial obligations should be checked before ordering.
  • Choice of Incoterms: The delivery term (Incoterms) matters as much as the price; freight, insurance and transfer of risk depend on it.
  • Supplier verification: Check whether the supplier is a manufacturer or an intermediary, and verify its certificates and references.
  • Sample approval: Before a bulk order, sample approval and quality criteria should be put in writing.
  • Payment method: Letter of credit, advance payment or cash against documents should be chosen according to supplier risk.
  • Import inspection: For products that require standards, labelling or a certificate of conformity, research import inspection requirements in advance.

How do you assess a supplier when importing?

In importing, a supplier is chosen by assessing production capacity, quality system, lead time, speed of communication and payment terms together.

The total cost only emerges when these criteria are assessed together. We score each supplier against these criteria and present the scores alongside price in the comparative quotation report.

  • Manufacturer verificationWhether the firm is genuinely a manufacturer is checked against its plant and capacity details.
  • Quality and certificationProduct standards, test reports and quality management certificates are reviewed.
  • Commercial termsMinimum order quantity, lead time, payment method and delivery terms are compared.
  • Communication and continuityResponse speed, references and willingness to work long term are assessed.
