Export portals, usually called B2B portals for exporters, are online B2B or B2C platforms where manufacturers and exporters in Türkiye present their products to buyers worldwide; Alibaba, Amazon Global Selling, Global Sources and TürkDEX are the best-known examples. Choosing the right portal and building a strong profile is one of the fastest, lowest-cost ways to start selling abroad.

What is the best B2B portal for exporters in Türkiye?
Every platform has its own buyer base, commission model and category strengths. Before you open a store, answer three questions. Which region is your target market? Do you sell B2B or direct to consumers? What are your order volumes and minimum order quantity?
The table below compares the platforms exporters consider most often, against the criteria that matter.
| Platform | Model | Strongest markets | Fit for sellers in Türkiye | Membership cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alibaba.com | B2B | Asia, Middle East, Europe | High: wide range of categories | Paid (Gold Supplier) |
| Amazon Global Selling | B2C / B2B | US, EU, UK | Medium: trademark registration required | Monthly fee + commission |
| Global Sources | B2B | Asia, Americas | Medium: strong in electronics | Paid package |
| TürkDEX | B2B | MENA, Central Asia | High: built for companies in Türkiye | Free to join, premium options |
| TradeIndia / ExportersIndia | B2B | South Asia, Africa | Low to medium: valuable in niche categories | Free and paid |
5 steps to results on a B2B portal
Opening a store is not enough. An incomplete profile, poor product images and unanswered enquiries quickly push you down the platform’s rankings. Exporters who get results take these five steps:
- Write your catalogue in the buyer’s language: technical specifications, dimensions and certificates (CE, ISO, Halal and so on) belong in the buyer’s own language, using the terms they search for.
- State your minimum order quantity (MOQ) clearly: a vague MOQ puts serious buyers off.
- Upload your certificates and documents: platforms rank certified suppliers higher in search results.
- Answer enquiries within 24 hours: Alibaba and Global Sources use response speed in their supplier ranking score.
- Publish a competitive price range: buyers largely ignore profiles without prices, and a range is enough.

Common mistakes on export portals
Most companies that pay for a platform but see no results make the same mistakes. The first is relying on one portal and treating it as the whole market. Yet Alibaba rarely converts well in Europe, and Amazon is a separate ecosystem that needs a registered trademark and FBA logistics.
Another is publishing product pages only in Turkish or in weak machine translation. Buyers will not order from a supplier whose content they cannot trust. Professional English product copy is the part of the investment that pays back fastest.
Which sectors see results fastest on which platform?
Textile and apparel exporters should test Alibaba and Made-in-Turkey first; machinery and equipment makers, Global Sources and sector-specific B2B directories; food and agricultural exporters, TürkDEX and regional trade platforms. The US Department of Commerce’s Country Commercial Guides offer free, current data on buyer behaviour and preferred digital channels in your target market.
Fitting portals into your wider export plan
A portal is not a sales strategy on its own; it is the digital arm of a wider market development plan. A multilingual company website, regular content that sends traffic to your product pages and buyer relationships built on LinkedIn all lift your visibility on the portal.
On our projects, FIX builds one connected system for portal management, buyer research and CRM tracking. Companies then grow not just by receiving messages, but through enquiries that turn into qualified buyers.
If you want to treat overseas sales as one joined-up effort, our Export and Business Development service combines strategy, buyer targeting and portal management.

No. For most international platforms (Alibaba, Global Sources and others), a legal entity registered in Türkiye and a trade registry certificate are enough, and the same applies to TürkDEX, the Türkiye-focused platform. Actual exporting and customs clearance, however, need a tax number, a customs broker and any product-specific certificates.
-
Can a free portal membership compete with a paid one?A free profile makes you visible on the platform.
A free profile makes you visible on the platform. Ranking near the top of search results, earning a verified supplier badge and accessing analytics usually need a paid membership. A sensible order is to start free while testing, then upgrade once product-market fit is confirmed.
-
How should you assess enquiries from a portal? From the first message, find out the buyer’s country, target quantity and payment method.
From the first message, find out the buyer’s country, target quantity and payment method. A standard enquiry template separates serious buyers from speculative requests early. Response speed, content quality and clear pricing drive your conversion rate.

How many platforms should you focus on at once?At the start, running one or two platforms in depth works far better than a thin presence on five or six.
At the start, running one or two platforms in depth works far better than a thin presence on five or six. Add platforms as capacity and budget grow; first choose the one that best fits your target market and build its profile out fully.
